EdgeFest Pictures

Edgefest was great. And by Edgefest, I mean Placebo and Muse.
And of course, all pictures in this post are klikz farz mekz bigz0r.!?

So I left the house around 12:45. Drove out to Frisco and stopped for gas because I was very low.
I got to the venue and started looking for parking. Looked for parking.....Looked for parking....
There were two empty lots, but you needed a "platinum" "pass" and a "gold" "pass" to park there AND $15. So I kept driving and found nothing. I actually ended up parking about a mile or so away. It kind of sucked, but I didn't really care because I was pretty damn excited to see Placebo.
After I finally reached the gates, I was really surprised about the lack of security. At the start of the line, there was a table and about four ladies that were checking bags if you brought them. I didn't have one, so I just walked past them. Twenty or so feet past them, were the actual gates and ticket scanning staff. So I walked up, got my ticket scanned and they let me in. That's it. No metal detectors, no police in sight, nothing. After I walked in, I chuckled to myself over the security and then proceeded to push past TONS of people to get to the second stage to see Placebo as they were playing at 2:30 and it was currently about 2:00.
I got to the second stage and there was a band finishing their set on the third stage.
As it turns out, the second and third stage were right next to each other. So while one band played on one stage, the other band had their equipment set up.
So work my up to the second stage and there wasn't too many people yet to wait for placebo. Just a good chunk near the front.
I saw the drum set with Placebo written on it and I got pretty excited.
Around 2:20, I see a tour bus pull up behind the stage. I knew it had to be them. I stand on my tip-toes and try and spot them and then BAM! I see Steph because he is a giant. They then proceed to go in their trailor and wait for their concert time. Steph went out once to check the venue.
Then the background track started playing and the crowd went nuts. It was great.
Placebo stepped out and then proceeded to amaze my face. It was great.

After the set, I stuck around for a bit and then went to find a drink because I was dying of thirst. The prices were outrageous and I refused to play 3.75 for a soda. =/
Found a smoothie shop that was pretty packed. I waited in line for about 15 minutes and finally got my $8 strawberry-banana smoothie. It was pretty damn good and the size of the smoothie was pretty damn big too. $8 was a little much, but the best deal on any refreshment that I could find.
So I took my smoothie and started walking around a bit. Apparently, DeVry had a booth out there with Gamestop. I found that to be pretty random. One of my co-workers was out there so I talked to him for a bit. I also snagged a chapstick and a CD cleaner thing.
Then I walked around some more and found a place to sit in the shade.
Right next to where I was sitting, there was a booth selling merchandise. Bought a Placebo shirt for my love and I would have bought myself one but they were out of sizes. All they had left of the male counterpart was small, medium, and XXL. =(
Sat around some more and then Placebo started a signing session.
I had no idea they were going to do that but next to the merchandise booth, about 10 feet away, there was a Virgin Records booth were some bands were going to do signings.
It was awesome.
I got in line, pretty damn near the front and snapped a couple of pictures of the band. Which turned out to be funny because apparently, we were not allowed to take pictures of the band. =D
I got my ticket signed by the band and was pretty damn speechless while getting my signatures. =X
Either way, it was crazy awesome. All I really said was I had waited a damn long time to see them in concert and Brian said, "Well then I hope you enjoyed it." Too which I replied, "Every minute of it!" Which made him chuckle.
So I took my signed ticket and then walked around a bit more.

Passed the time for about one and a half hours and then headed towards the main stage for Muse.

Muse was crazy good. That's all I have to say. Crazy good.
They opened the set with Stockholm Syndrome and closed it with Nights of Cydonia.
Click Here to See Muse At EdgeFest!!!
It's a youtube account of somebody that went to the concert and got some GREAT footage.
Be amazed.

After Muse, I left. Took the HUGE walk back to my car.
Didn't bother me at all though, I was still pretty excited about the whole thing.
Drove home and stopped at a gas station to buy a drink on the way home.

It was a pretty awesome day.

hahahah...wooooooo

Wow. I remember you.
Anyways, I have crap loads of pictures on my computer right now and when I'm not lazy, I'll re-size them and post some of them.

Going to "edgefest" 16 tomorrow.
Talk about a bunch of crappy bands.
So why am I going?
Because I will see Placebo AND Muse in one day.
=O~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

It will be delicious. So delicious even, that it will divide by zero.

But what sucks is that I just got the official schedule for it and it annoys me. Placebo will be playing at 2:30 and will only go to 3. Boo. And it's not even on the main stage. So who is going to be on the main stage at that time?
Jet.........
Muse will play at 5:30 until 6:20 on the main stage. So that should be great.

JET?!?!?!
COME ON!
HI! I WEAR STUPID MILITARY LOOKING CLOTHES TO BE COOL! PLEASE BUY OUR MUSIC!

;lkjasd;lfjkasld;jfkasd;ljfk

Well, at least I won't be there all day.
After Muse, three super crappy bands play.
AFI, My Chemical Romance, and then Killers.
Trash.
